Deputy Manager | Children’s Residential | Buntingford
We are seeking a Deputy Manager in Buntingford to join a children’s residential care home. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide therapeutic care for young people, ensuring high standards of safeguarding and emotional support. You will oversee day-to-day operations, lead a dedicated team, and contribute to the ongoing development of quality services within a caring, structured environment.
Job Title: Deputy Manager – Children’s residential
Location: Buntingford
Salary: £30,000-£34,000 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
Shifts: Days 40hrs a week
Requirements
· Previous experience working within a residential children’s home environment
· NVQ Level 3 caring for children and young people / children’s residential workforce.
· Related knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding procedures.
· A strong people manager with a hands-on approach.
· Experience of budgets and rotas.
· Full driving licence is essential.
· You need to be able to work flexibly in caring for the children. This will include working shifts and sleep-ins
About the role
· You will be part of a caring team that provides a safe and loving home for children and young people, led and supported by a Registered Manager.
· You will be responsible for delivery of quality care services, as well as the strategic planning for developments within the home and all day-to-day management matters.
· Leading your team along with other professionals, you will provide the therapeutic care and support needed for each individual child focused on obtaining the best outcomes.
· You will act as a positive role model to colleagues and children to meet their everyday living needs, developing trusting relationships that create recovery, growth and lasting change.
· Responsible for supervision and mentoring of staff, organisation of work patterns, facilitation of care focused training and accessing of appropriate services to support the childcare practices within the home.
