Team Leader – Children’s Residential Care
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent (40 hours per week)
Salary: £28,100 – £29,100 per annum

About the Role
We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established therapeutic care provider for a skilled and compassionate Team Leader to join a children’s residential home supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

Responsibilities
- Support the Home Manager with the day-to-day running of the service
- Ensure care delivery aligns with the home’s Statement of Purpose and regulatory standards
- Supervise and support residential care staff in providing consistent, high-quality care
- Lead on therapeutic planning and contribute to individualised care strategies
- Oversee daily operations including rotas, audits, and delegated budgets
- Promote safeguarding, participation, and children’s rights throughout all work
- Collaborate with external professionals including education and health services
- Participate in team meetings, reviews, and the on-call rota
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and emotionally secure environment for all young people
Requirements
Essential:
- Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or Health and Social Care – CYP)
- Significant experience in children’s residential care, preferably with EBD
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and understanding of therapeutic approaches
- Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and support care staff
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexibility to work across shifts including sleep-ins
Desirable:
- Working towards or willing to undertake Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management
- Knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and quality standards
- Previous experience in supervisory or team leadership roles
