Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home (2 Bed)

Location: Chesterfield (S41)
Salary: Circa £45,000 (negotiable depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm (with flexibility)

About the Role

We’re seeking a committed and compassionate Registered Manager to take leadership of a small, stable 2-bed children’s residential home in Chesterfield. This is an ideal opportunity for a skilled manager looking to make a real difference within a close-knit, values-driven organisation.

With one young person currently placed and a calm, community-integrated setting, the home offers a manageable and meaningful leadership challenge. The successful candidate will take over from the current Director, who is stepping back from day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and operational oversight of the home
• Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted standards
• Promote trauma-informed, child-centred care in a therapeutic environment
• Manage and develop a small, dedicated care team
• Work closely with external stakeholders, families, and professionals
• Oversee safeguarding, incident management, and care planning
• Participate in the on-call rota (paid per day)

Requirements

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Residential Childcare or equivalent)
• Proven experience as a Registered or Deputy Manager in a children’s home
• Strong working knowledge of safeguarding and regulatory compliance
• Driving licence preferred (for call-outs)
• Resilient, proactive, and emotionally intelligent leadership style

On-Call Duties (Paid Separately)

• Weekdays: £11 per day
• Weekends: £16 per day
• Rota typically covers one week at a time
