Job Title: Registered Manager
Location: Preston
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Additional Earnings: Up to £7,000 annually through bonuses, including:

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for all staff, delegating effectively and appropriately.
  • Manage staffing structures, rotas, and labour costs in line with children’s needs and budgets.
  • Ensure adherence to organisational policies, Children’s Legislation, and Regulations.
  • Develop behaviour management strategies to help children develop coping mechanisms.
  • Ensure timely and effective reviews and meetings for children and staff.
  • Deliver high standards of care, supporting children’s social, emotional, educational, and cultural needs.
  • Maintain and promote an open culture where children feel heard and supported.
  • Lead Safeguarding and Child Protection compliance within the home.
  • Produce high-quality reports and supervise staff to deliver Personal Development Plans.
  • Actively encourage professional development and ensure adherence to anti-discriminatory practices.

Required Qualifications

  • GCSE standard or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 4 in Management, CMS, DMS, or equivalent (or working towards).
  • Diploma Level 5 in Leadership & Management for Children and Young People.
 

Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience working with young people in residential care.
  • Evidence of senior management within a residential setting.
  • Proven team and staff management skills.
  • Budget management, including recording and reporting.
  • Strong leadership and motivational abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
 

Other Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Flexibility to work occasional out-of-hours shifts and provide cover to other homes if needed.
  • A commitment to creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for children.

Schedule

  • 8-hour shifts.
  • Monday to Friday with opportunities for overtime.
