Job Title: Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Care (EBD)
Location: East London (Gants Hill)
Salary: £65,000 – £80,000 per annum (DOE)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a new two-bed EBD children’s home in East London. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a small, specialist service and make a lasting impact on the lives of young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
The successful candidate will provide strong, hands-on leadership, secure regulatory compliance, and build a high-performing team committed to therapeutic, child-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Hold Ofsted registration as the Registered Manager for the home.
- Lead and develop a dedicated staff team to deliver outstanding care.
- Ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
- Embed safeguarding, reflective practice, and trauma-informed approaches.
- Build strong working relationships with local authorities, social workers, and families.
- Lead on inspection readiness, quality assurance, and service improvement.
- Ensure care planning and key working reflect each child’s individual needs and goals.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership role within children’s residential care.
- Proven track record as a Registered Manager (Good or Outstanding outcomes desirable).
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Children & Young People) – or willingness to enrol.
- Excellent knowledge of safeguarding, regulatory frameworks, and trauma-informed practice.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
