Deputy Manager | Adult Mental Health (Residential) | South East | £30,000 + Performance Bonus + Private Health
Deputy Manager | Adult Residential Mental Health | South East | £30,000 + Quarterly Bonus + Private Health
We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established CQC-registered residential service for adults with complex mental health needs. The home is a 15-bed setting, fully staffed, and recently rated as Good, located in the Southeast.
With no Registered Manager currently in post, this role requires a Deputy Manager who can lead the floor, maintain daily operations, and ensure safe and structured care. You’ll be the most senior on-site most days, supported by a stable senior team, but trusted to maintain the rhythm of the home.
This is a residential-only role (not supported living) and would suit someone confident in shift leadership, medication, incident handling, and staff development in a multi-resident care home environment.
As the Deputy Manager, you will:
- Lead day-to-day care delivery and team supervision
- Provide confident, visible leadership during shift handovers, meds rounds, and busy periods
- Oversee documentation, care planning, and real-time risk management
- Step in as the senior point of contact when the RM is off-site
- Support audits, staff performance, and governance tasks
- Liaise with families, professionals, and commissioners
- Support out-of-hours leadership as part of a rota
- Help embed a culture of calm, safe, accountable care every shift
This role would suit you if you:
- Have experience in a CQC registered residential care home (mental health preferred)
- Are confident leading shifts and addressing issues professionally and promptly
- Have supported adults with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, EUPD, or dual diagnoses
- Hold a minimum Level 3 in Health & Social Care
- Are experienced with medication administration, MARs, and supporting audits
- Can guide and mentor staff calmly under pressure
- Communicate clearly with families and professionals
- Want to grow into a Registered Manager with responsibility over time
What You’ll Receive:
- £30,000 base salary
- Quarterly performance bonus (up to £1,600+ per year)
- Private health insurance (after probation)
- Monday to Friday working pattern (9am–5:30pm)
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
- Pension + laptop + full CPD access
- The opportunity to step up into real leadership with support behind you
- A respected provider with strong relationships and a low-turnover, values-led team
This isn’t just a Deputy post, it’s a frontline leadership role in a home that’s strong but needs holding. There’s no Registered Manager on site, so this position gives you the chance to lead, protect what’s working, and raise what’s slipped.
If you’re the one keeping things together already but not being recognised for it this is a step up that reflects your actual contribution.
The provider is investing, not firefighting. You’ll receive senior-level backing, visible support, and a clear path toward Registered Manager progression, all without the corporate red tape or layers of approval.
If you’re ready to lead from the floor, coach a team under pressure, and maintain safe care through shift changes, agency coverage, or complex behaviors, this is worth exploring.
