We’re recruiting for an experienced, clinically qualified Home Manager to lead Buxton Lodge – a dual-registered residential and nursing care home based in Caterham. This full-time, permanent role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a well-established 44-bed service, with a strong reputation in the local area and a visible need for clear, values-led leadership.
The home is staffed with a clinical and care team, but now needs a calm, confident leader to steer it forward, overseeing compliance, culture, quality, and daily operations. This is a Monday–Friday position with occasional on-call responsibilities, supported by a wider group infrastructure and a regional team that empowers their managers to run services effectively.
You must hold an active NMC PIN and have experience managing residential and nursing services.
• Hold full operational accountability for the 44-bed residential and nursing home
• Lead and support a team including Clinical Leads, Nurses, and senior care staff
• Maintain CQC compliance and governance standards across care, safety, and staffing
• Oversee care plans, medication, audits, pre-admission assessments, and team performance
• Drive service improvement, occupancy, and staff engagement in line with group goals
• Build positive relationships with families, local partners, and regulatory bodies
• Work collaboratively with regional and central teams on strategy and best practice
• Lead on recruitment, training, and retention of care and clinical teams
• Promote a culture of dignity, accountability, and professional development
• Ensure all regulatory and safeguarding requirements are met without compromise
What we’re looking for:
• At least 4 years’ experience as a Registered Manager in a residential/nursing care setting
• Active NMC PIN (RGN/RMN) is essential
• Proven background in elderly and dementia care
• Strong understanding of clinical governance, team supervision, and audit processes
• Skilled in leading multi-disciplinary teams and supporting clinical development
• Confident managing occupancy, KPI performance, and CQC readiness
• Warm, visible leadership style with clear communication and strategic thinking
• Able to handle complexity, challenge, and operational pressures calmly and proactively
• Based within commutable distance of Caterham, or willing to relocate
