Job Title: Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Care

Location: Bournemouth 

Salary: £39,680 – £40,720 per annum
Estimated OTE: £47,280 – £48,320 including sleep-ins and on-call shifts

About the Role

SNG Healthcare is recruiting for a Deputy Manager on behalf of a respected children’s residential care provider in the Bournemouth area. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a newly established home that supports children and young people with complex needs. The Deputy Manager will help lead the team, maintain high standards of care, and contribute to the ongoing development of a therapeutic and nurturing environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager in ensuring compliance with regulatory and organisational standards
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) when required
  • Lead, mentor, and develop care staff to deliver consistent, high-quality care
  • Promote a child-centred culture that supports emotional, social, and educational development
  • Manage shift planning and ensure smooth day-to-day running of the home
  • Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with families, social workers, and other key stakeholders
  • Participate in the recruitment, supervision, and appraisal of staff
  • Contribute to the home’s quality assurance and continuous improvement processes

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 months’ experience in a Deputy Manager role within children’s residential care
  • QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent) is essential
  • Willingness to work toward or currently hold Level 5 in Leadership and Management
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child development, and trauma-informed practice
  • Confident leadership and communication skills
  • Flexibility to work shifts, sleep-ins, and take part in on-call duties
