You may have seen our big news already! After a lot of hard work behind the scenes, we’re delighted to share that SNG Healthcare is now registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to provide regulated services.
This has been a long‑term goal for us. Over the past few years there have been early mornings, late nights, countless documents and more than a few nerve‑wracking interviews. Achieving CQC registration is a huge milestone for our business, but more importantly, it deepens how we can support the people at the heart of health and social care.
In this post we want to explain:
- What being CQC registered means in practice
- Why CQC regulation matters for those receiving care
- How this changes what SNG Healthcare can offer
- Personal reflections from the team who led the journey
What does CQC registration mean for SNG Healthcare?
SNG Healthcare is now registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for the regulated activity of personal care. This allows us to hold our own domiciliary care packages and offers extra assurance to the CQC‑regulated providers and commissioners we work alongside.
In practical terms, this means we can now:
- Provide our own domiciliary care packages, rather than only supplying staff into existing services
- Carry out assessments and risk assessments and hold full responsibility as the provider
- Offer more tailored, bespoke support to individuals in the community
- Operate under strict CQC regulation, with our work regularly reviewed and monitored
Previously, our role was to supply high‑quality staff into CQC‑regulated services. Our clients held the regulatory responsibility; we focused on providing the right people.
Now, for the right packages, we can be the regulated provider ourselves. That means we design and deliver the service, we are inspected by CQC, and we are accountable for the quality and safety of care delivered under our registration.
It’s a natural extension of what we already do well, and it builds directly on our team’s background in regulated environments.
Why CQC regulation matters
CQC regulation isn’t just a badge or a logo on a website. It’s about safety, transparency and accountability for people receiving care.
Being CQC registered reassures commissioners, providers and families that:
- Our work is held to nationally recognised standards
- What we do is regularly reviewed, inspected and monitored
- There is clear oversight of how care is delivered, not just who delivers it
In a sector where people can be vulnerable, and where there has been increased scrutiny on how care is provided, we believe independent regulation is essential. It helps build trust, protects the people we support, and keeps us focused on continuous improvement.
Not every organisation offering community‑based support is CQC registered. For us, choosing to become a regulated provider reflects what we believe in as a business: care that is accountable, person‑centred and safe.
A different kind of CQC‑registered provider
Many CQC‑registered organisations present themselves purely as home care providers. SNG Healthcare is slightly different.
We remain a specialist healthcare and social care recruitment agency. Our temp, perm and project‑based teams are still very busy supporting CQC and Ofsted regulated services across the UK.
Our CQC registration adds an additional arm to what we do:
- We continue to recruit and supply staff into regulated services
- We now also have the ability to hold our own regulated packages of care in the community
This positions us uniquely as a CQC‑registered recruitment agency and provider, able to support our partners in more flexible ways – whether they need staff, a full package of care, or a mix of both.
Voices from the team
This achievement has been driven by a core team who’ve invested huge amounts of time, care and energy into the process. Here’s what it means to them.
From Ashie Ossai – Registered Manager
“Being the Registered Manager for our new CQC‑regulated service is something I’m incredibly proud of.
This hasn’t been a tick‑box exercise. It’s meant looking in detail at how we work, how we keep people safe, and how we evidence that every day.
Leading on this journey has been challenging at times, but it’s also been hugely rewarding. We now have a strong platform to deliver safe, high‑quality, person‑centred support under CQC regulation. I’m excited for what this will mean for the individuals and families we’ll be working with.”
From Rebecca Bowring – Kingman – Nominated Individual
“From an operations perspective, this registration touches every part of how we run the service.
I’ve seen first‑hand the focus, resilience and attention to detail from the whole team to make sure our policies, processes and culture all stand up to CQC scrutiny.
I’m immensely proud of everyone involved. This isn’t just a milestone on paper – it’s a reflection of how seriously we take quality, governance and accountability at SNG, and what we want our name to stand for.”
From Ebele Ossai – Director
“Strategically, this is a really important step in SNG Healthcare’s journey.
We’ve always been passionate about matching the right people to the right services. Becoming CQC registered allows us to go a step further – to design and deliver regulated packages ourselves where that’s the best solution.
It diversifies what we can offer, strengthens our position in the market and, most importantly, gives our clients and commissioners more options and more confidence in how we work. I’m very proud of what the team has achieved and excited about the opportunities this opens up.”
Thank you to our clients and support workers
Many of you have been with SNG Healthcare for years. You’ve trusted us with your services, your teams and your service users.
To our clients: thank you for your ongoing partnership, your feedback and your belief in what we’re building.
To our support workers: you are the people on the ground who bring our values to life on every shift. The way you work has been a huge part of why we felt confident stepping into CQC‑regulated services.
This achievement belongs to you as much as it does to the office team.
What happens next?
Over the coming months we’ll be:
- Launching a dedicated CQC‑regulated services section on our website
- Sharing more details about the types of domiciliary care packages we’ll be delivering
- Communicating any additional training and development opportunities linked to this work
- Continuing to post updates, insights and resources on CQC‑related topics across our social media channels
If you’re a provider or commissioner interested in exploring CQC‑regulated support with SNG Healthcare – or you’re a support worker keen to understand what this might mean for future opportunities – we’d be very happy to have a conversation.
This is a big moment for us, and we’re just getting started.
