Support Worker | Children and Young People
SNG Healthcare are partnering with a number of high-quality Children and Young People’s residential services across Hampshire. We’re looking for compassionate, kind and caring Support Workers with experience of working with children and young people, particularly those with emotional and behavioural difficulties and autism. Location: Totton or Hedge End, Hampshire
Hourly Rate: £13.68
Contract Type: Permanent, shift-based role (details discussed at interview)
About the Role
We are looking for passionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team in providing a safe, warm, and caring environment for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties and autism. In this role, you will:
- Foster a respectful culture and ethos within the home.
- Support young people in their personal growth and development through varied and stimulating daily activities.
- Be supported to manage challenging behaviours effectively and with empathy.
- Promote education, independence, and daily living skills.
- Support individualised care plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in compliance with organisational and Ofsted standards.
- Stay informed about relevant legislation and policies.
This role involves shift work. Further details regarding shift patterns will be discussed during the interview.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a stable, nurturing environment for children and young people.
- Promote the health, education, and overall well-being of the young people in your care.
- Prepare young people for independent living by encouraging daily skills and confidence.
- Collaborate with a team to deliver high-quality care in line with organisational values.
Requirements
Essential:
- Must be a UK resident or have the right to work in the UK (proof required).
- Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience working with children/young people.
- Computer literate.
- Willingness to comply with safer recruitment policies, including pre-employment checks, satisfactory references, and enhanced DBS clearance.
Desirable:
- Full UK driving licence.
