We are seeking a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to help lead a children’s residential home supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs. This is a full-time, permanent position offering up to £40,000 per annum, inclusive of performance-based bonuses. You’ll work in a therapeutic setting that champions trauma-informed care, strong safeguarding practices, and meaningful support for both staff and young people is prioritised.

Job Title – Deputy Manager

Location – Stockport

Hours – 40 hours per week

Salary – Up to £40,000 (inc bonuses) 

Responsibilities

  • Support and guide care staff in delivering consistent, trauma-informed care
  • Promote a nurturing, safe, and structured environment for young people
  • Assist in quality assurance, audits, and day-to-day operations
  • Lead shifts and provide cover in the Registered Manager’s absence
  • Contribute to staff development through mentoring and supervision
  • Uphold regulatory standards and promote best practice at all times

 

Requirements

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential care setting
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a senior or team leader role
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Level 4 Diploma in Children, Young People & Families (or willingness to work towards)
  • Full UK driving licence and own transport
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and safeguarding awareness
