About the role:
We are seeking dynamic, enthusiastic and forward-thinking Senior Residential Support Workers to join our growing team. You will be part of a dedicated team responsible for the day-to-day care of children and young people (aged 7-17) with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties in a 3-bed children’s home.
We offer a unique care programme focusing on the repatriation of young people to their communities with clear transition plans. Whether transitioning back to their birth family, into foster care, or moving towards independent living, our support extends to young adults (up to 21 years old) through our transition properties. We are passionate about providing continuity of care and nurturing long-term relationships with trusted adults who reflect family values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure children and young people can establish their own identity within their home environment.
- Support children in maintaining relationships, pursuing interests and accessing education.
- Promote the health and well-being of children and young people.
- Develop, monitor, and review care plans and risk assessments.
- Prepare young people for independent living.
- Ensure safeguarding practices are followed and children’s needs are prioritised.
Partnership Working:
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and other professionals to benefit the young person.
- Lead the team in devising, monitoring, and reviewing care plans.
- Actively support children in engaging with external support programmes.
Development and Training:
- Participate in supervision processes and learning activities to improve both individual and team practices.
- Reflect on practice to identify areas for growth and provide feedback to others.
Promoting Positive Behaviour:
- Foster a safe and supportive environment where positive behaviour is encouraged and rewarded.
- Consistently respond to incidents of challenging behaviour, supporting colleagues to do the same.
