We’re recruiting for a senior leadership role with a new Supported Accommodation service for young people (16–17) on the Isle of Wight, progressing through Ofsted registration.

This is a start-up (not a turnaround). The focus now is on setting culture, systems, and inspection-ready practice from day one.

As the Registered Service Manager, you will:

  • Lead the set-up and day-to-day delivery of Supported Accommodation for young people preparing for adulthood

  • Ensure full compliance with the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 and Ofsted frameworks

  • Safeguard and manage risk effectively, embedding trauma-informed, person-centred practice

  • Recruit, coach, and motivate a skilled staff team with clear standards and accountability

  • Drive quality assurance: audits, monitoring, feedback loops, action plans, and continuous improvement

  • Build effective partnerships with external agencies, professionals, and families

  • Manage referrals, placements, occupancy, and service performance against KPIs

This role would be ideal if you:

  • Have proven experience managing Supported Accommodation or similar services for young people

  • Bring strong safeguarding knowledge (incl. CCE/CSE and contextual safeguarding) and risk management

  • Understand Ofsted inspection/QA requirements and what “Good” and above looks like

  • Communicate calmly and credibly, with solid operational grip and team leadership

  • Hold (or are willing to complete) the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

Nice to have:

  • Led services through Ofsted inspections/monitoring or quality assurance visits

  • Knowledge of therapeutic/trauma-informed models and approaches

  • Experience managing budgets and occupancy targets

  • Formal safeguarding training (e.g., DSL)

In return, you’ll receive:

  • Competitive salary (DOE) + benefits package

  • Ongoing CPD, funded qualifications, and clear career pathways

  • Supportive senior leadership and a values-led team culture

  • The opportunity to build something meaningful and deliver real outcomes for young people
