Registered Manager | Ofsted (Children’s Residential, EBD) | Solo Occupancy
Registered Manager | Ofsted (Children’s Residential, EBD) | Solo Occupancy
Location: Bristol
Salary: Up to £60,000 (DOE)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
We’re hiring a confident, emotionally intelligent Registered Manager to lead a small, Bristol-based children’s home supporting young females (11–18) with emotional and behavioural needs (EBD), currently on a solo-occupancy basis.
This home is part of a respected, expanding care group with consistent senior support and a visible, experienced RI who’s on-site twice weekly. It’s a rare opportunity to stabilise a newly registered home, rebuild culture, and lead a strong turnaround with support already in place.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in early-stage or high-risk services, leads from the front, and knows what it takes to embed structure, safety, and trauma informed care.
As Registered Manager, you will:
- Take full ownership of a 4-bed Ofsted-registered home (currently solo occupancy) for young people aged 11–18
- Lead and inspire a forming team through clear structure, role-modelling, and values-led leadership
- Embed robust safeguarding, reflective supervision, and high-quality care planning
- Work closely with the Responsible Individual (on-site twice weekly, typically Tues/Thurs)
- Deliver a smooth leadership transition ahead of a scheduled Ofsted monitoring visit
- Prepare the home for future placements and ongoing regulatory improvement
- Represent the home with families, professionals, and external stakeholders
- Take a visible, floor-based role in daily routines, crisis management, and service culture
You’ll need:
- 2+ years as a Registered Manager, or a confident Deputy ready to step up
- Strong knowledge of children’s home regulations and EBD/SEMH care
- Level 5 in Leadership & Management (or working towards it)
- Proven ability to lead teams, hold standards, and model trauma-informed practice
- A grounded, emotionally intelligent leadership style with sound safeguarding instincts
- Flexibility to work on-site and engage directly with the young persons
- A full UK manual driving licence and full right to work in the UK
In return, you’ll get:
- A salary of up to £60,000 (depending on experience)
- Flexible, supportive leadership from a hands-on, respected RI
- A structured handover with the outgoing Registered Manager still in post
- High autonomy in daily decisions and leadership approach
- The opportunity to turn a home around and make a lasting impact
- Long-term scope to grow with a provider that’s expanding the right way
This role suits someone with both the heart and head to lead a turnaround. If you’re ready to take ownership and build something meaningful with the right support around you, we’d love to hear from you.
