Registered Manager – Children’s Residential

Location: West Yorkshire (Huddersfield area)
Salary: £44,000 – £50,000 per annum, plus bonus
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

 

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Manager to lead two dual-occupancy children’s homes, providing therapeutic residential care for children aged 5–17 who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable young people by creating a nurturing and supportive environment that fosters healing and growth.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management to a team of up to 12 staff across two homes.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, child-centered care in line with regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement care plans that address the individual needs of each child.
  • Promote a therapeutic environment that supports the emotional and psychological well-being of the children.
  • Oversee staff recruitment, training, supervision, and development.
  • Maintain compliance with Ofsted regulations and contribute to positive inspection outcomes.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, families, and stakeholders to support the best interests of the children.

 

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Children and Young People’s Workforce.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in residential childcare within the last 5 years.
  • At least 1 year’s experience in a supervisory or management role within a residential setting.
  • Willingness to work towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Care (if not already obtained).
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, safeguarding practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
