👤 Requirements
- Must have the right to live and work in the UK
- 6–12 months’ experience in a care or support role
- Practical manual handling training
- First Aid & CPR trained (or willing to refresh)
- Comfortable lone working in an individual’s home
- Able to work independently during night hours
About the Role
The Night Support Worker plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of an individual in their own home throughout the night.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing person-centred care and emotional support overnight
- Supporting mobility: repositioning, transfers, comfort checks
- Assisting with personal care and hygiene
- Carrying out regular observations and household checks
- Responding calmly to call bells or urgent needs
- Administering medication and maintaining accurate records
- Keeping the home clean, tidy and safe
- Communicating effectively with family
- Writing clear notes in daily logs and care plans
Night shifts require patience, attention to detail and a calm, reassuring presence. You will be the primary point of support, ensuring the individual feels safe and respected at all times.
You will also be responsible for:
- Monitoring changes in behaviour or health
- Escalating safety or wellbeing concerns appropriately
- Maintaining a peaceful and settled environment
