👤 Requirements

  • Must have the right to live and work in the UK
  • 6–12 months’ experience in a care or support role
  • Practical manual handling training
  • First Aid & CPR trained (or willing to refresh)
  • Comfortable lone working in an individual’s home
  • Able to work independently during night hours

 

About the Role

The Night Support Worker plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of an individual in their own home throughout the night.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing person-centred care and emotional support overnight
  • Supporting mobility: repositioning, transfers, comfort checks
  • Assisting with personal care and hygiene
  • Carrying out regular observations and household checks
  • Responding calmly to call bells or urgent needs
  • Administering medication and maintaining accurate records
  • Keeping the home clean, tidy and safe
  • Communicating effectively with family
  • Writing clear notes in daily logs and care plans

Night shifts require patience, attention to detail and a calm, reassuring presence. You will be the primary point of support, ensuring the individual feels safe and respected at all times.

 

You will also be responsible for:

  • Monitoring changes in behaviour or health
  • Escalating safety or wellbeing concerns appropriately
  • Maintaining a peaceful and settled environment
