Registered Manager – Dual Role in Children’s Residential Care
Salary: £60,000–£70,000 per annum + performance bonus
Location: Watford
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, with on-call responsibilities

About the Role
We’re recruiting a dynamic and experienced Registered Manager to oversee two Ofsted-regulated children’s homes. This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone passionate about delivering therapeutic, child-centred care in line with high safeguarding and compliance standards. You’ll lead committed teams across both services, ensuring consistency, development, and outstanding outcomes for the young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clear, values-led leadership across two children’s homes.

  • Ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and Ofsted requirements.

  • Embed therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches in everyday practice.

  • Develop care plans that meet each child’s individual needs—educational, emotional, and health-related.

  • Maintain robust safeguarding systems and respond effectively to concerns or incidents.

  • Lead recruitment, staff development, and performance management across both settings.

  • Build strong relationships with external professionals, families, and placing authorities.

  • Maintain oversight of rotas, resources, budgets, and home environments.

  • Drive quality assurance through audits, reflective supervision, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Registered Manager or similar senior role within children’s residential care.

  • Proven success in achieving ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted outcomes.

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Residential Childcare) or equivalent.

  • Sound understanding of therapeutic and trauma-informed models.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Commitment to flexibility, including on-call responsibilities.
